Georgina throws a sleepover party for her friend Jamie, a moderately successful actress, on the night of Jamie’s fiancée’s bachelor party. Jill, Jamie, Marcy, Rachel, and Georgina have been friends since childhood, and as the evening progresses they talk about a variety of topics: Georgina’s heterosexual fantasies and her uncertainties about Chris, her live-in lover; Jamie’s doubts and insecurities about marriage; and all of their attitudes toward sex and sexual fantasies.

Carlita’s Secret begins with a young girl who unwittingly participates in a drug deal rip off. She goes into hiding from the police and the boyfriend she helped commit the rip off with.

A mother daughter reunion set in the harsh reality of a woman’s correctional facility. Stranger Inside is a television drama film directed by Cheryl Dunye that premiered on cable television in 2001. The story primarily concerns African-American lesbians in prison. Michael Stipe, the lead singer of R.E.M., helped to produce it. In a 2004 issue of Feminist Studies, Dunye stated that she worked with actual female inmates to produce the script.
