Natalie, a teenage mind-reader who struggles to control her power, stumbles upon Evey, a destitute young girl with a dark and mysterious past. Natalie struggles to befriend the guarded Evey, but hits a wall when her friend Gretchen shows up in the middle of the night with a huge gash in her head.
