If These Walls Could Talk (1996)

A trilogy of stories set in the same house, but with different occupants and spanning over 40 years, deals with various women and moral crisis over unexpected pregnancies and their choice of abortion. In 1952, when abortion was illegal, a nurse deals with her unexpected pregnancy and takes drastic measures to get one. In 1974 a family housewife with four children discovers that she’s pregnant and decides she can’t handle another child to raise. In 1996, a pregnant college student decides on an abortion, but doesn’t realize the means to go through to get one.

Leisha Hailey Kissed A Girl Gets Kicked Off A Plane

A lesbian actress who starred in “The L-Word” said she kissed a girl — and got escorted off of a Southwest Airlines flight on Monday for doing it.

Leisha Hailey took to Twitter to call for a boycott of the carrier after a flight attendant told them other passengers had complained after witnessing the affection.

Her first tweet said: “I have been discriminated against.” She later added, “Since when is showing affection to someone you love illegal?”

Southwest Airlines Co. responded on its website that Hailey was approached “based solely on behavior and not gender.” The airline’s four-sentence response said passengers were characterizing the behavior as excessive. continue »

Jolene (2008)

The film follow the course of Jolene’s life over the course of ten years, as an abused 15-year-old foster child up until her life as a 25-year-old woman. At 16 she is a teen bride but her marriage is disrupted when she is seduced by her uncle-in-law. Her marriage break-up pushes her towards a lesbian relationship with an emotionally needy attendant, Cindy, who she meets at juvenile detention. This is followed by a liaison with drug-dealing tattoo artist. Her strange choices continue in her relationship with a mobster named Sal in Las Vegas. Later in life she becomes involved with Brad, a wealthy psychopath.

The Playboy Club LGBT Characters

The Playboy Club Starring Amber Heard will involve LGBT themes. The character of Alice, who is one of the Playboy Bunnies in the series, is a lesbian who is married to a gay man. Alice is played by Leah Renee (see photograph) while Sean, the husband, is played by Firefly’s Sean Maher. The series will, apparently, deal with their marriage of convenience as well as meetings set at the Mattachine Society, which is a real LGBT rights organiztion. read more
